Chocolate Covered Strawberries 4 for 99 cents Safeway

This is a deal that will probably be gone tomorrow, but had to write about it.  Writing a longer post on how I’m finding salvage priced food at regular grocery stores, but this deal can’t wait.  Large chocolate covered strawberries at Randall’s, four for 99 cents.

Went into local Randall’s here in Austin this afternoon (Safeway owns Randall’s, Tom Thumb, Vons, Dominick’s, Genuardi’s, Pavilions, and some other brands).  Front of the produce section featured strawberries $1.50 a pound.  That’s not a great deal.  What WAS a great deal was 4-packs of large chocolate covered strawberries that were not sold on Mother’s Day.  These were going for $8.99 for four yesterday.  Checker said they were $1.99 earlier in the day, then reduced further to 99 cents a pack.  These aren’t small strawberries, either–the big ones with stems.  Posting a pic later, but trying to get this info out now.  Obviously can’t vouch that every Safeway owned store across the US and Canada is running this same special right now, but this is an example of when you see a deal, buy it.
